This project is located on FAI 57 (I-57) at IL-17 interchange in Kankakee. Work consists of reconstructing the interchange to provide a single point urban diamond interchange. The proposed interchange will accommodate a future six lane section on I-57. Bridges SN 046-0006 (NB) and SN 046-0007 (SB) will be replaced with SN 046-0154, and SN 046-0005 carrying the KBandS RR over I-57 with SN 046-9904. The work consists of reconstruction of 1.6 miles of I-57, and 0.73 miles of IL 17. Work includes pavement reconstruction, retaining walls, noise walls, sign structures, drainage replacement, traffic signals, and other associated items. (Kankakee)

(3.4-Mile) The improvement consists of cleaning and sealing of longitudinal joints between traffic lanes and curb and gutter on the existing pavement, refreshing existing pavement markings with modified urethane pavement marking lines. (3.3-Mile) Designed Overlay consists of HMA pavement resurfacing with binder and surface courses, class B patching, cleaning and sealing of longitudinal pavement joints between traffic lanes and curb and gutter, placement of thermoplastic and modified urethane pavement markings. (3,381-Ft) Crack and Joint Seal project includes routing, cleaning, and sealing of longitudinal cracks in existing hot-mix asphalt (HMA) pavement and PCC pavement, performing class B patching on PCC Pavement and refreshing existing pavement marks with modified urethane pavement markings. 5,203-Ft) Crack and Joint Sealant improvement consisting of routing, cleaning, and sealing of longitudinal cracks and joints within the hot-mix asphalt pavement, grading and shaping shoulders, restriping with modified urethane pavement marking is located within the Villages of Island Lake and Wauconda in Lake County. (1.413-Mile) Bridge Superstructure Replacement (SN 016-0927) consists of widening shoulder widths, replaced approach slabs, continuation of the new shared use pedestrian path, removal and installation of new guardrail, striping ond drainage improvements.
