  "summary": "<p>The Work covered in this Specification is located on Oak Knoll Ave from California Boulevard to Colorado Boulevard in the City of Pasadena, California.</p><p>The Contractor&rsquo;s work shall include the furnishing of all labor, material, equipment, apparatus, transportation, and all other services necessary and incidentals to the construction of underground water main line, water services, fire hydrants, abandonment and other miscellaneous work complete in place, as shown on the attached drawings of the Water and Power Department and in this Specification, including but not limited to the following:</p><p>A. Providing traffic control plans and traffic control for the duration of the project;</p><p>B. Providing potholing services for the identification of existing site conditions and utilities;</p><p>C. Providing construction surveying;</p><p>D. Removal of existing and replacement with new street pavement, temporary and permanent, including concrete sections;</p><p>E. Excavation, backfill, soil compaction and shoring of excavation where required;</p><p>F. Removal, installation, and/or relocation, of water mains with valves, tees, tapping sleeves, and other appurtenances complete in place as directed by the Water and Power Department and as shown on the contract drawings and Specifications;</p><p>G. Reconnection of existing domestic water services, fire services, and fire hydrants;</p><p>H. Installation of new fire hydrants;</p><p>I. Abandonment of existing water mains, water services, fire hydrants, and other miscellaneous items;</p><p>J. Clean-up and miscellaneous housekeeping work as directed by the General Manager or his/her authorized representatives;</p><p>K. Replacement of sidewalks, driveways, curbs, and gutters in accordance with the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction (&ldquo;Greenbook&rdquo;) and Supplements and Modifications to the &ldquo;Greenbook&rdquo; and City of Pasadena Standard Plans;</p><p>L. Reinstalling all traffic striping, markings, raised pavement markers, and traffic loop detectors.</p>",
