Description
Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) owns and operates four major reservoirs, including Lake Bridgeport, Eagle Mountain Lake, Cedar Creek Lake, and Richland-Chambers Lake. See Figure 1. TRWD operation activities include routine maintenance and inspection of dams at the four reservoirs. For the purposes of this solicitation, we will not include Richland Chambers as it was inspected in 2023 and inspections are required every five (5) years. The contract resulting from this solicitation will be for three years with the following locations each year: 2024 – Eagle Mountain Reservoir 2025 – Lake Bridgeport 2026 – Cedar Creek Lake Figure 1: Location Map of TRWD Reservoirs Eagle Mountain Dam Eagle Mountain Dam was constructed in 1930s as a municipal water supply dam. The dam is located on the West Fork of the Trinity River in Tarrant County approximately 14 miles of Fort Worth, Texas. The reservoir has a drainage area of 1,970 square miles and normal water level at elevation 649.1 feet. Eagle Mountain Lake has a normal pool storage capacity of 179,880 acre-feet. The dam consists of two embankment sections (main dam and spillway dam), two concrete spillways, an outlet works, and an earthen emergency spillway through the high ground called Eagle Mountain and Burgess Gap. See Figure 2. Figure 2: Location Map of Eagle Mountain Dam Lake Bridgeport Dam Lake Bridgeport Dam was constructed in 1930s as a municipal water supply and flood control dam. The dam is located approximately 4.6 miles northwest of the City of Bridgeport, Texas on the West Fork of the Trinity River in Wise County, Texas. The reservoir has a drainage area of 1,111 square miles and normal pool elevation of 836 feet. Lake Bridgeport has a normal pool storage capacity of 361,875 acre-feet. The dam consists of a main embankment section, the saddle Gap Levee, and the Berkshire Levee. The structure also includes a gated service spillway, an outlet works and an emergency spillway. See Figure 3. Figure 3: Location Map of Lake Bridgeport Dam Joe B. Hogsett Dam (Cedar Creek Dam) Joe B. Hogsett Dam, which form Cedar Creek Reservoir, was constructed in 1960s for municipal water supply and recreational use. The dam is located in Henderson County, approximately 3 miles northeast of Trinidad, Texas. The reservoir has a capacity of 642,569 acre-feet at the normal pool elevation of 322 feet. The dam has a drainage area of 1,020 square miles. Joe B. Hogsett Dam consist of a main embankment section, a levee section adjacent to the main dam embankment, a gated service spillway, and a service outlet. See Figure 4.
