On-Call Landscape Architectural Services

santacruzca / Parks and Recreation

Description

General work description: The City of Santa Cruz requests qualifications from qualified proposers for the provision of landscape architectural consulting services on an as needed basis. The City is seeking up to three firms to provide “on call” landscape architectural services for master plans, outreach, condition assessments, design standards, site designs, schematics and 3D renderings, construction drawings (i.e. plans and specifications for site furnishings, irrigation, erosion control, drainage, grading, planting, lighting, ADA, ect.), cost estimates, feasibility studies, technical guidance, project management, public bidding and construction phase services, and other related services for a three year period, with the possibility that the initial term may be extended upon City approval. The qualified proposer(s) will provide consulting services under a master agreement, with future on-call service requests for specific scopes of work, costs, and timelines to be negotiated for each specific project. All consultants receiving master agreements will be determined to be “qualified” to perform the work, and assignments to undertake specific projects will be offered to the highest-ranking proposer first, and, if an agreement cannot be reached, then the second, and then the third in sequential order. Firm’s teams, which may be comprised of a prime consultant and sub-consultants, should have expertise in the disciplines of community engagement, landscape architecture, and civil and geotechnical engineering. In its current fiscal year budget, the City has funds allocated for redesigning Harvey West Park, developing plans and drawings for a Disc Golf Welcome Area and course safety improvements at the DeLaveaga Disc Golf Course; redesigning Ocean View Park; creating plans for a trail and wetland enhancement at Jessie Street Marsh, and developing design and improvement standards for the overlooks, site amenities, furnishings, railings, and landscape treatments along West Cliff Drive. Additionally, construction drawings are anticipated to be needed for the redesign of San Lorenzo Park when the master planning process is completed in 2024. Additional projects may be included in future budgets. Smaller landscape architectural service needs may also arise during the agreement term and be paid for from departmental operating budgets.
