Description

The King County Library System (KCLS) invites proposals from qualified consulting firms to lead a comprehensive system-wide planning and development process. The objective is to develop a Master Maintenance and Asset Management Plan that integrates Future Growth & Development considerations for the next 25 years. This Plan must be aligned with KCLS's three recent assessments consisting of: Facilities Condition Assessment, Library Accessibility Audit and the Climate Action Plan. Consultants should demonstrate a strong understanding of asset management principles, long-term planning, and the unique needs of public library systems. The guide will be an affirmation and reflection of KCLS' commitment to its mission and that supports the following objectives, strategies and initiatives. KCLS Key Objectives Supported: Master Maintenance Develop a comprehensive Master Maintenance Plan to ensure optimal performance and longevity for the next 25 years Current Asset Management Plan Future Growth & Development Recommendations for expansion as the surrounding communities of our existing locations are growing faster than our ability to provide adequate services KCLS Goals Supported: Organizational Excellence and Strategic Communication Providing transparency internal to KCLS operations and external to patrons, our plan of responsibly managing our real estate portfolio. KCLS Initiatives Supported: This Plan incorporates a current facility plan for practical, climate, and access purposes, yet it will also engage the public in what we “can grow toward in the future with additional funding.”
