  "summary": "<p>The City of Norfolk (the &ldquo;City&rdquo;) Department of Public Works is seeking proposals from qualified professional architectural firms to provide services on an as-required basis.&nbsp; The City intends to enter into an annual, renewable agreement with the firm selected to provide these services.&nbsp; The City will provide a scope of services for each specific request for architectural and interior design services required under the agreement.</p><p>Although this contract may be used for any type of City project, the primary focus of this contract will be to develop architectural and engineering plans arising from concepts developed through the City&rsquo;s urban planning and economic development initiatives, and a strong background in relevant City processes is desired.&nbsp; Experience in renovations of existing buildings as well as in the use of historic tax credits is desired.&nbsp;</p><p>A request for services under this contract may include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:</p><p>1.&nbsp;&nbsp; Conduct architectural inspections and/or evaluations and prepare reports.</p><p>2.&nbsp;&nbsp; Provide architectural design for projects which may also include urban planning and conceptual design, scope studies, cost studies, and design of projects for renovations, alterations, and additions to various City buildings or facilities.</p><p>3.&nbsp;&nbsp; Provide historic tax credit documentation and support.</p><p>4.&nbsp;&nbsp; Provide interior design services which may include interior space planning, casework design, furniture and equipment selection, finishes and other appropriate essentials.</p><p>5.&nbsp;&nbsp; Perform architectural design services, including preparation of required plans and specifications.&nbsp; Provide incidental structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and civil engineering as required by specific projects.</p><p>6.&nbsp;&nbsp; Provide construction administration services which may include bid review, shop drawing review, issuing change orders, and conducting on-site meetings with the contractor.</p><p>7.&nbsp;&nbsp; Make periodic visits to the site to review progress of the work and make final and warranty inspections.</p><p>8.&nbsp;&nbsp; Provide Ad-hoc professional services as directed by the Director of Public Works related to architectural interior design and emergency situations.</p>",
