New Traffic Signal Construction for Wilfong Citizens Center for Success on Spring Hill Dr & Traffic Signal Improvements at the Intersection of Mariner Blvd & Landover Blvd South
hernandocounty / Department of Public Works
Description
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Project 1: A new Traffic Signal will be constructed on Spring Hill Drive at the main entrance to the Wilfong Citizens Center for Success, in Hernando County, Florida. This traffic signal will be on Spring Hill Drive at the intersection of Princeton Road, to the North, and the newly named, Career Path Way, to the South. The County's goal is to create a safe intersection by adding the traffic signal. This portion of the Solicitation will be funded by a grant from the State of Florida, Department of Commerce, formerly the Department of Economic Opportunity. Project 2: The intersection of Mariner Boulevard and Landover Boulevard is a signalized intersection located in Hernando County, Florida. This intersection and associated roadways serve residential communities, commercial businesses, and a public high school. The traffic signal structure incorporates four concrete strain poles in a box configuration. The County’s goal is to enhance the intersection's safety by adding yellow reflectorized backplates and implementing protected-permitted left turn phasing for all approaches. The current signal structures are deficient for these upgrades and a new concrete strain pole signal is proposed. The County’s intent is to replace the old poles and foundations with new poles and foundations requiring temporary signalization during construction. This portion of the Solicitation is not grant related or funded.
