Escambia County intends to plant 15 (fifteen) two inch and larger caliper Grade #1 native trees at Ashton Brosanham Sports Complex. Project is to enhance the overall aesthetic and environmental quality of the area. Escambia County will select and purchase the Florida Grade #1, Ball and Burlap and large container trees. The purpose of this solicitation is to obtain quotes from qualified vendors to provide the planting services for the large tree planting project, in accordance with the specifications and requirements outlined below. Specifications: The trees shall meet the American Standard for Nursery Stock (ANSI Z60.1) to ensure quality and proper handling during transportation and planting. Before planting, the vendor shall inspect the planting area, ensuring it is free from any underground utilities or obstructions that may hinder the tree planting process The vendor shall provide knowledgeable personnel with experience in large tree planting techniques and procedures. The planting process shall adhere to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI A300) standards for tree planting, including proper digging of the planting hole, backfilling, and staking (if necessary).All planted trees shall be mulched using weed free pine straw to conserve moisture, prevent weed growth, and promote healthy root development. The vendor shall be responsible for watering the newly planted trees immediately after planting to limit air pockets to aid in their initial establishment. There after the watering schedule and duration will be the responsibility of the County. The vendor shall provide a 6 month warranty on planting services ensuring proper planting protocol for survival. Any trees that fail to thrive within the warranty period due to planting methodology shall be replaced free of charge Tree planting shall comply with the guidelines provided by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS). Delivery All trees shall be delivered and planted within 3 weeks of the contract award. Associated delivery cost is included with tree procurement and paid by the County. The vendor shall coordinate delivery with nursery on an agreed upon date and time, ensuring trees timely arrival prior to the scheduled planting. Escambia County shall have planting areas marked and flagged prior to tree delivery. The vendor shall be responsible for ensuring the removal and proper disposal of any excess soil, packaging, or debris resulting from the tree planting process. The vendor shall coordinate with Escambia County staff to ensure minimal disruption to park visitors during the tree planting process. All trees shall be properly secured during transportation to prevent damage or stress to the root systems. Quote Requirements: All interested vendors are requested to submit a proposal that includes: Proof of insurance, including general liability coverage, workers' compensation, and any other relevant certifications or licenses. References/names of previous clients or projects of similar scope. Vendor shall be a member of at least one professional tree planting organization. Please note that Escambia County reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and is not bound to accept the lowest-priced proposal if it does not meet the specified requirements or quality standards. The County may also request additional information or negotiate terms with the selected vendor. Questions or clarifications can be submitted via Open Gov prior to question closing date. The vendor shall complete the tree planting project within the agreed-upon timeframe, as mutually determined by Escambia County and the selected vendor.
