State Street Reconstruction Phase 2

newhavenct / Engineering

Description

Roadway construction and traffic signal modifications on State Street from Water Street/Union Avenue to Trumbull Street. Phase 2 will continue the work from Phase 1 and reconfigure State Street to establish two-way vehicular traffic wholly on the west side of the existing planted medians, and create a new pedestrian and bicycle greenway on the east side of the medians. Traffic signals will be revised to enable the shift in traffic pattern and facilitate new pedestrian and bicycle crossings by retaining existing equipment and installing new infrastructure on select approaches. Typical construction items include demolition, curb, concrete sidewalk, asphalt bike path, storm drainage, ADA ramps, traffic signal equipment and foundations, full milling and paving of the project limits, line striping & signage, and street furniture.
