Description
Palmdale Water District (“PWD” or “District”) is requesting proposals from individual(s) or firms to provide the skilled technical and professional personnel necessary to perform construction inspection services to assist the District’s project team during construction of an upcoming Booster Station Replacement project. The consultant must have the ability to provide in-house capability or the capacity to sub-consult for the following engineering skill-sets as they relate to potable water: construction inspection services in the areas of Civil Engineering, Surveying, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, and Electrical Engineering suitable to: Assist and ensure successful execution of the District’s Project Contract Documents Assist and maintain compliance with Encroachment Permits (Licenses) issued to the Contractor or PWD Assist with the coordination of construction activities with outside agencies and PWD Maintain compliance with existing Easements that have been dedicated to or by the District Assist and keep project on schedule Experience working and coordinating with Southern California Edison (SCE) Provide daily inspection reports to the District on all activities and conversations with contractor and other agencies Review payment requests from Contractor The District is seeking to enter into a Professional Services Agreement with an experienced consultant to provide the above services and perform the tasks described in the “Scope of Work” section of the Request for Proposals (RFP). Consultants are encouraged to suggest additions or modifications to the scope that will enhance or clarify their Construction Inspection Plan, and those suggestions should be incorporated into the consultant’s proposal. Below is the project description: The District has a 6MG Clearwell Tank and the 6M Booster Station provides the required contact time for treated water out of the Leslie O. Carter Treatment Plant and supports the 2800 and 2950 Pressure Zones (PZ) of the Distribution System. However, the existing 3M boosters may not be sized to provide the necessary capacity to meet the current and future demands. The proposed project is east of the intersection of Avenue S and Sierra Highway. The site is approximately 1.26 acres which includes an existing 3 MG tank and two separate booster station buildings for the 2800 PZ and 2950 PZ. The District has designed the project which includes demolition of the existing 2950 PZ booster station including pumps, electrical, building, yard piping and then building a new pump booster station with an ultimate capacity of 26,000 gpm.
