  "summary": "<p>The County of San Mateo (the &ldquo;County&rdquo; or SMC) covers most of the San Francisco Peninsula. The region covers 744 square miles and is home to nearly 800,000 residents. The County prides itself on how that prosperity fosters its commitment to protecting and enhancing the health, safety, welfare and natural resources of the community.</p><p><strong>Aging and Adult Services (AAS): </strong> AAS is a division of San Mateo County Health . The Division provides a wide range of services to assist seniors, people with disabilities and dependent adults to live as safely and independently as possible in the community, as well as services associated with administering the estates of deceased persons for whom there is no one able or willing to serve as administrator. AAS&rsquo;s overall goal is to develop an integrated protective and long-term supportive services system for older adults and adults with disabilities that is person-centered and responsive to the individual needs of older adults and adults with disabilities, focused on coordinated home and community-based services to maintain individuals in community settings and flexible in its use of resources while reducing administrative duplication, complexity and fragmentation. The Division provides direct services which include centralized intake and referral; assessment and consultation; protective and supportive services and case management.</p><p><strong>AAS Adult Protective Services (APS): &nbsp;</strong>APS help elder adults (60 years and older) and dependent adults (18-59 with disabilities), when these adults are unable to meet their own needs, or are victims of abuse, neglect or exploitation.</p><p><strong>Probate Investigation: </strong>The Probate Investigation Unit determines whether clients meet the requirements for a probate conservatorship and whether such a conservatorship is the least restrictive alternative to meet the client&rsquo;s needs.</p><p>This RFP seeks qualified proposers who are California licensed (1) physicians or (2) psychologists acting within the scope of their licenses who have at least three<span style=\"color: #293fa1;\"> years' experience </span>in diagnosing and treating major neurocognitive disorders (including dementia) to provide capacity evaluations for AAS clients who may lack capacity to make their own decisions.</p><div><hr align=\"left\" size=\"1\" width=\"33%\"></div>",
